We are planning to initiate an inpatient unit within a short time, for those need continues service of a medical professionals This aims to support incurably ill, bed ridden and dying patients in the region through inpatient services. Patients are offered medical, nursing, psychosocial and spiritual support through the project so that the
level of suffering is reduced.

The admissions at the centre will be for the following purposes.

  1. Respite care: Respite care is a special name for a short-term break for caregivers. Someone who has an illness or disability may need care around the clock. Caregivers sometimes need time to rest and relax, go on vacation, shop or go to appointments. That means they need a break from their routine. When we admit the patients here, the patient get a change in their regular atmosphere. It provides a relaxation, to patients and their care givers, from their stressed routine.
  2. Terminal care (end of life care) : in most cases the end of life will be painful and give much more anxiety to the relatives and patient itself. In usual situations the patient will be in an isolated ICU and the relatives are not allowed to witness the real time
  3. Stoma care : A stoma is an opening in your belly’s wall that a surgeon makes in order for waste to leave your body if you can’t have a bowel movement through your rectum. You might get one if you have surgery to remove or bypass part of your large intestine (colon and rectum) and can’t have bowel movements the usual way. Caring to the stomas like Colostomy, Illiostomy, urostomy etc. needs special training. Palliative care trained nurses and doctors are well educated with this type of care and
are provided accordingly. Counseling also a part of this special care.
  4. Symptom Care : Care given to improve the quality of life of patients who have a serious or life-threatening disease. The goal of symptom management is to prevent or treat the symptoms of a disease, side effects caused by treatment of a disease, and psychological, social, and spiritual problems related to a disease or its treatment. Also called comfort care, palliative care, and supportive care.
